PATRIOTISM = DIGITAL HATE ! ? ! ?

Being a patriot online means you're spreading hate, according to the Simon Wiesenthal Center.

The Center just published "Digital Hate 2001," a compilation of over 3,000 "hate sites" on the Internet. Usually the list includes Web sites belonging to white supremacists, neo-Nazis, and others who promote violence. But this year it includes singer-songwriter Steve Vaus, who sells his patriotic music on his Web site. It also includes the Free Congress Foundation, a conservative think tank. Also on the list is Women Against Gun Control.

So if you stand up for your country, support Americans' right to own and use firearms, or think conservatively, you're every bit as evil as the Nazis Simon Wiesenthal became famous for hunting.

It might be best to consult this list of so-called “hate sites” the next time our congress starts ginning up talk about “hate crimes” legislation. Remember --- we’re talking about criminalizing thought here. Once the legislation is on the books it will be so easy to expand the definition until we reach the point that an expression of support for our Second Amendment could be considered a hate crime.

The left is looking for a way to criminalize it’s ideological opposition. The Simon Wiesenthal Center seems to be a part of that effort.

To me, the above is a perfect example of how Jews are their own worst enemy. By fighting those who would fight for freedom they are cutting their own throats. It's like standing up for the rights of child molestors or homosexuals. You're not going to make many freinds doing that. There are segments of the population who will never go along with it.....just as there are segments of society who will never be pro abortion. You just CAN'T change their minds about it so then why make people dislike you with your anti-freedom, anti-gun and amoral stands? It don't make no sense to me and I WANT to like Jews but they are making it awfully hard for me. Why do Jews take these kinds of political stands when it will only hurt them?? I just can't understand it.

I for one am getting sick of that poor mis-guided Jew. :barf:
Herr Wiesenthal would do himself, and others a great favor if he would take another hard look at some tatoos, and think about how they got there... ;)

Read the article. Went to the website. Called SWC. When I asked them how they compiled the list, they couldn't give me answer. They asked if I had a specific site I was complaining about. I told them "Yes, YOURS!". When asked where I was calling from, I told him it was none of his business and then called him and his organizaion 'F'ing MORONS and hung up.

Flame away. I will suffer all the sling and arrows, as I feel so much better, now that I have gotten that off my chest.

Other than to find out if I (you) am (are) listed, I'd say don't buy their CDs - then when they're about to throw them out we could ask for the CDs to use for "gun control", ie; practice ... anyone doing 25 rounds - all through the hole without touching the media - gets to keep it.:)

What else can I say?

Guess what organization was listed as a "Hate Group" on their website list (which has been, I understand, disabled...)

The NRA MUSEUM!

Hey, Denfoote!

No flame intended, but you're totally wrong about Simon Wiesenthal. For one thing, he's been dead for a while. Prior to his death, he had been in retirement for some number of years.

In essence, his organization has been "hi-jacked" by the politically correct, who have run out of living Nazis to hunt. The foundation has his name, but not his ideals. Nowadays, it might as well be an arm of the Democratic Party and its devotees of political correctness.

My father helped in the liberation of the concentration camp at Dortmund. I went through Dachau, this past September. I, too, subscribe to "Never again!"

Wiesenthal worked incredible numbers of hours, unendingly for many years, compiling data to try to find Nazis who had fled in 1945. He contributed greatly to the capture of such creatures as Eichmann.

This is the second go-around on this subject, here at TFL. You might search the archives for quite a bit of interesting information...

Art,
I don't take what you said as a flame. I thought SW was dead also. The guy on the other end of the line said he was alive and well and completely supported their current actions. So, alive or dead, Simon Wiesenthals name is being taken over by freedom stealing Nazis that he used to fight against.

I'm told he's still alive; he's 92.

I'd be just real dubious that, given his past history, compared to what's being done in his name today, he would be supporting the sort of approach the SWF is taking.

A total ROFL is the inclusion of the "Beaver County Militia" in the list. Try it; the URL is http://members.tripod.com/~sonoguy/index.html It's a satire on militia groups.

In other words, the SWF is working hard to lose credibility.

There is a lot of stuff I once strongly supported, but the twisting over the decades, from worthwhile to weird is maddening: Morris Dees' Southern Poverty Law Center once focussed on groups like the Klan, and did good work. Now, he's as much anti-gun as anti-hate. Or, in government, the EPA or the Endangered Species Act--these have gone far beyond the intent of Congress or of rational behavior by the present-day proponents...

For that matter, I imagine the present policies of the Sierra Club have John Muir spinning in his grave.

shoe is on the other foot..

Looks like the shoe is on the other foot now... I thought the Jews of all people would have learned what evils can come from compiling "lists" of people who are "incorrect thinkers".

They had better put me on their lists because I believe in Jefferson and Washington and the Freedom of Speech, Religion and the Right to Keep and Bear arms to defend ourselves against ALL enemies, Foreign OR Domestic.

Of course, I'm prepared to meet them with a steady stream of lead if they come for me. :)

Using the Germanic "Herr" before Simon Wiesenthal's name is offensive. Is this some sort of a link to the Nazis who he hunted from the end of the war to his death? If you wish to add a title to his name "Reb" is much more appropriate.

As was pointed out abouve the SWC is now piloted by flaming liberal buffoons who could not hold a candle to Reb Wiesenthal. He was a truly great man. These new POS creeps would fold up and die if they ever saw a Nazi closer than a mile away. They are nice and safe hiden behind the anonymity of a CRT and "hunting" hate groups from a swivel chair.

WAGC
The NRA Museum :confused
The Beaver County Militia

Its truly disgusting that hate filled bigots are using Weisenthal's name this way :barf:

"In other words, the SWF is working hard to lose credibility"

Mission accomplished.

Idiots

ds1973, your post implies "all Jews", which I doubt you mean. After all, some Jews are smart, some are fools. Some agree with our views on guns and liberty; some are notably anti-gun. "Some", okay? It's a very important modifier of a word. :)

Regardless of their views, they're people, just like us--good, bad or indifferent...

As usual, Art

What is going on here??
I was under the impression that this thread was to discuss the shift in ideology of Herr Weisenthal's organization from one espousing a noble cause, to that which he fought against. We all know of Herr Hitler's love for gun control. As I stated in an e-mail reply to one of our asteemed moderators, I am reminded of how one pistol, passed from person to person, was instrumental in the Jews of the Warsaw getto being able to hold off the SS for weeks. I did not intend to cause rancor with my brief historical allusion above. If any took offense, I apoligise. BTW: Simon Weisenthal is German, so the title is both correct, and proper.
