I have a new 7600 and the trigger pull is 4.5 -5 lbs I would like it at 2.5-3.5 lbs. I found the sear spring kit online it will cost $15 to ship and am more than capable of installing it. A trigger job seems to be between $50-150 shipped. Most of them involve replacing or reshaping the sear in some way. I was wondering if the kit would help and if sear or sear spring was more important to trigger pull.

The Patriot Spring does indeed make for a better trigger as far as pull weight goes ! There will still be some creep but I don't find that to be a big deal on a hunting rifle ! If you decide to have it worked , make sure you get a Smith with some experience . I just fixed one somebody had screwed up bad , it would fire if you just tapped the butt on the floor . A new Hammer and sear spring made it right again . I kept the Sear Spring that had been installed to show people what they don't want , Hammer too . Trigger pull was less than a # ! I used to use the Patriot Spring but now I make my own . much cheaper !

Keep you finger out of the trigger till your sight are on target !!

Yes, spring kit and honing will do wonders. Initially just honed and it made a difference. Went back later and did the spring kit and perhaps might have gotten too light for a hunter. Very easy to do. .... :)

Trigger work

"timney triggers" has a service you may be interested in. Remove the trigger group from your remington pump / auto rifle or shotgun. Ship them the entire trigger group. They will polish, respring, reassemble, & then ship the whole shebang back to you.
