Path to 9/11

Can you believe that there are some Democrats from Congress who are actively spending their time trying to get ABC(a private enterprise) not to air the Docudrama 'Path to 9/11'? Some of these Congressman are trying to determine what we can and cannot see! This is incredible. It's a Docudrama of all things and because they don't want Clinton looking bad again on Bin Laden, they are actively campaining to have it taken off the air---despite having not even seen it.
Funny, I don't remember the outrage when Michael Moore was putting out his drivel. All of a sudden their tune has changed.

That only talks about the movie---nothing about how some Democrats in Congress are attempting Censorship---on a docudrama!

It all depends on whose bull is being gored.

Hey, if you don't like the movie---say so. If you don't think it's accurate---say so. If you think it's garbage---then don't watch. BUT, to have some Democrats from Congress get involved and try and censure a ficticious story is a waste of time, money and scary all at once.

Well, beyond that, the point of the film(biased of course) is that Clinton missed many chances to get Bin Laden. These have been documented. Their arguement seems to be that certain conversations or reenactments in the "docudrama" never happened. Thus, the freedom of the writers to enhance the dialogue/action to make the film more appealing. But that doesn't change the fact that they had some chances they chose not to act on. This will probably boost ABC's ratings for this series tremendously.

The "talk" on the radio also read a letter from key dem leaders which included thinly veiled threats about the next time ABC stations were up for licensing.

Mow, in your last statement you acknowledge that it's a work of fiction but fail to realize it's impact on stupid americans who digest it as the gospel. Perhaps that's the left's problem with the issue.

Esquire,

There will ALWAYS be some dumb people out there. You can't censor a docudrama because of that and I certainly don't want Congress involved. They have already indicated that it would be stated at the beginning that it is a docudrama and not a documentary. People(dumb) could believe a snakes on the plane movie or you name it---there are tons. But more to your last statement, in fact they are most concerned that it will make Clinton look bad by using supposed meetings and statements by actors. Did what they are showing/saying actually happen exactly like they are portraying it---NO WAY. Are they using their freedom to enhance these scenes---yes. Does it change the fact that he missed some chances---No.
It led me to think of a movie based on fact------'The Perfect Storm'. Did that actually happen and the crew were all killed at sea---yes. However, in the movie they showed/said what they thought happened. All that were on the ship died--so there is no way to know what was "actually" said or not---and whether or not the Captain actually went down with the ship. They put in the dialogue and ending to enhance their view of what happened to make a better movie.

So you're implying the left is only trying to protect poor stupid Americans from being impacted by a work of fiction?

Oh, well then it's ok. Shew... thanks for clearing that up.

FYI: Congress' job does not involve protecting me from my own stupidity as it relates to fictional film.

Ever see the movie JFK?

The Democratic National Committee said it delivered a petition with nearly 200,000 signatures to ABC's Washington office urging the network drop its "right-wing factually inaccurate mocudrama."

The only comment I have for these folks is "Remember Michael Moore?" :D Payback is a &#^#.

One obvious difference between this propaganda piece and the others: They were released into the theaters where the terminally stupid had to pay to see them.
This is being piped directly into the homes of the terminally stupid over public airwaves after Veterans' Day during an election cycle and *that* has legal ramifications.

I'm going to stay out of the censorship argument...but I suspect that you folks will change your tune when the 6 hour attack piece on Bush airs in November. Equal time rules, ya know....

Doesn't make a difference where they are released--eventually they make it to TV. People(Clinton lovers) don't have to watch if they don't want to. The WHOLE issue is about Censorship and Congress getting involved. The lower issue is trying to tell a private enterprise what they can and can't put on TV. As for something that bashes Bush on TV?-----just put on MSNBC or watch TV a little each night and you will get your fill.;) You do realize that 99% of the shows that air on TV are written and not documentary's right. The sole reason some Democrats don't want this on is because it makes Clinton "look" bad.

LOL....

only Democrats?

I remember the Republicans and conservatives getting thier underwear in a wad over the Ronald Reagen movie.

#1 the movie put out by ABC is a docudrama. Do the producers care if it is 100% truthful? No they do not. Do some people beleive everything they see on TV. Yes they do.

I didnt watch the Ronald Reagen movie and dont plan to watch this one.

Let me see if I've got this right. The liberal media (ABC) is going to broadcast a movie blaming Klinton (a liberal) for not getting binLaden and the Democrats (liberals) are raising h*** about it? Anybody smell a rat here? Propaganda?

badbob

Eghad, There is a big difference between the two. Ronald Regan was dying of alzheimers at the time, and unable to defend himself. Slick willy is alive and well, and evidently still tryin to get that legacy off the ground.
