Once again, Al Gore has sacrificed his integrity while campaigning for the votes of working families. At a Teamsters conference Monday, September 18th, Gore recalled the lullabies his Father sang to him during his childhood, singing a few bars of "Look for the union label" and citing it as his favorite. This tune and lyrics were written for a 1975 ad campaign for the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Gore was 27 years old at that time.

I don't see what is so unbelievable about a 27-yr old Al Gore getting sung to sleep by his Daddy every night. I find it credible, don't you?

Bartholomew, in this particular case (Gore) I find it not only credible but likely. :)

I hate to defend the Vice President, but can't the man have a sense of humor?

It's impossible for me to know the complete context of his remarks without seeing video tape, but consider this:

Who, even after 1975, would sing lullabies based on advertising jingles to their kids? Especially jingles largely based on politics, of which no child of lullaby age would understand? Absurd, yes?

I imagine Gore was engaging in obvious hyperbole for it's comic effect.

There, I've defended the Vice President. Now I feel all dirty.

Gore said that he'd always felt solidarity towards the unions because his father was the head of the labor department in TN. He then went on to say that unions were part of his childhood. Ti prove his point he said that his parents sang him union lullabys. He also mentioned another union ditty. To me it wasn't a joke. It's simply part of the pattern of habitual lying. But hey, he invented the Internet didn't he?

...nothing personal, but this guy doesn't have even have a sense of integrity, much less a sense of humor.

I heard the audio for this. He wasn't kidding, but rather reading from a prepared speech as usual. Just like the recent prescription drug gaffe about his dog and his mother-in-law, he was repeating the tripe his handlers overlaid onto his life story. It was a lie.

Go to http://www.reagan.com and listen to the audio archive for wednesday's show.

PS/ The Michael Reagan show is a great source for political information. I listen every night.
