Hi,
I have an older (Jap) 300 Weatherby, that the barrel was contacting the stock, so the rounds were hitting in a 3 inch group, instead of 1 inch. I pulled the stock off and found the area where the front screw, screws into the action assy, only had a tinny bit of epoxy or glue or what every they used and the rest of the area was open creating over a 1/8 inch drop. I cut small pieces of steel plumbers tape to fill in the area, level and then put two pieces over the hole area. Now when I do the dollar (float) test, it slides up and down between the barrel and stock, although snug and my groups are with in a inch. But I don't want to leave the steal there (I'm afraid it will start moving after awhile), I want to fill in the area with some type of resin or something. Not sure what to use. Any ideas?
Thanks.
