part hoarding

I feel the need to rant for a min. Apologies in advance.
Gun part hoarders have made it impossible for me to complete my ar15 build.
What the heck do you need to buy 30 to 300 bolt carriers for? other than to gouge the prices later. A part that normally was 75 to 150 dollars available from hundreds of retailers is now only found on auction sites for 250 to 450 dollars! this is insane and not to mention magazines which were like 20 bucks are now 40,50 even 70 dollars a piece! this hoarding is wrong and y'all need to break bread with the rest of us. the BCG(bolt carrier group) isn't even the part that will be banned. People are just going plain loopey grabbing up every ar part in existence. I am glad I got what I have when I did or I would have been totally out of luck. Ok, nuff ranting just had to speak my mind for a second.

ARs sky-rocketed.
So, the somewhat knowledgeable people turned to parts and receivers.
That, in turn, created a run on parts.

AR - part, or whole, is an endangered species. (I do not speak of the potential for a ban, but the fact that you can't find one.)

While it is irritating, when it's something WE want...

This is basic capitalism at work. And it happens with everything from gun parts to pork bellies and orange juice futures. And lets not even get started on oil.......;)

It is investment banking, stock buying at the grass roots level. Only what is being bought is actual physical stock on hand, rather than paper promises of future production.

Sure, it is irritating, when its something we want, but no one if forcing you to buy at the inflated price. You only have to pay that, if you want it now!

Right now, with panic in full flight, people are paying outrageous prices, why? Because the money is worth less to them than the desired item.

And a few astute folks are cashing in while they can. And a whole lot of foolish folks are paying them to do it. Somebody (reportedly) paid $75 for a Twinkie, when the word got around they weren't going to be made anymore...

a Twinkie......

btw, I'm entertaining bids on a Imbel metric lower FN FAL heavy barrel w/bipod & 8 magazines......:D

i just hope manufacturers can punch out more parts to lower the costs and resupply the demand. i understand the run on lowers as this is the registered part that will most likely be banned but the upper parts have been depleted. luckily a buddy of mine has a bunch of take-off stock barrels from builds he has done and is going to hook me up cheap. and he had the foresight to buy a bunch of mags months ago so i can get a couple of those at normal price too.

We should be sticking together on this gunboard and buying and trading parts with each other. Maybe someone has what you need and maybe you have a part that they need? Just my 2 cents.
