Anyone know of a source for Parker parts? I picked up a VH that had the butt plate replaced with a mattress and I'd like to restore it, so I'll need the wood and the original style butt.

The "VH" is the grade of your Parker....

Get a hold of a "Dixie Gunworks catalog, they had some parts there but are reproductions.

What is the over all condition, got to "Shotgun world" forum and search for a "DelGreco" his IS the last Parker smith around and does Restorations.

barrel length?, choke diameters? Photo's?

Call Numrich, even tho they don't list a stock they may have one. Also that gun has 2 1/2 inch chambers.

Parker story

40+ years ago my uncle paid me for a week's work on a haying crew, with a Parker Trojan. This was "in the day" when a leisurely walk through a cornfield would kick up a dozen or more birds. Anyhow I hunted with that Parker for 10 years then in a monumental act of stupidity traded it for a '53 Buick Special, and been sorry ever since. When I went in to my local shop to pickup a Dan Wesson 1911 I had on lay-a-way (no interest for a year) I saw this Parker VH. Its on lay-away now. Looks like professionally reblued "Vulcan" barrels, 100% bores, tight mechanicals, and good wood. I'm hoping to hunt with it a few times a year. Its got a nicely done recoil pad. I'd prefer the original "dog" butt plate. The other issue is the chambers (2 1/2"?). I'd like to shoot 2 3/4" shells. Do I need to rechamber, or load my own 2 1/2"s? Anyway...haven't been this excited since Kay..... started wearing mohair sweaters to school! :)

If it is 2-1/2, look at Polywad or RST for 2-1/2" ammo - in regular and low-pressure varieties for your gun. You can then reload them after adjusting your pre-crimp and final crimp (and getting the right wad )

Some folks have used LOW-pressure 2-3/4 in 2-1/2 guns successfully; however, personally, I would not when 2-1/2" shells are available for about what 28 gauge or high quality 12's cost

It might have 2 3/4 chambers as well as the original posters VH. 2 3/4 were around during the turn of the century but weren't standardized until the 30's. So check before you shoot. If chambers are 2 1/2 you can have them lengthened. The forcing cones should be reshaped anyway even if they are 2 3/4 because they were designed for a roll crimp not a modern star crimp.

The DelGrego family are the gotos for Parker stuff. The patriarch worked for Parker, the rest learned from him and expanded on the knowledge.

Had I a Parker of any vintage and condition, that's where I'd go.
