I have just purchased a Parker shotgun that was apparently issued by Wells Fargo to their Special Agents. The gun is dated 1876 and is in VERY GOOD shape...what have I gotten myself into?
 
Are you familiar with the term "damascas barrel". If not, do some internet searches. If you want to shoot that old gun, you are going to have to either handload for it or buy black-powder rounds made specifically for damascas barrels.
 
caveat emptor - There are at least three times as many guns marked with Wells, Fargo logos than W, F & Co ever thought of buying.

IOW, a LOTTA fakes.
