Pardner single shot for trap?

I am looking for a cheap trap gun. I don't shoot trap very often. Maybe 6 times a year, but I like it. I usually end up using my uncles remington 1100, which is nice, but it doesn't have a shell catcher and I am always pegging people with empty shells. Plus then he has to clean it, and I feel bad about htat.

I want to save up for a decent O/U, but in the meantime, what do you guys think of a pardner for trap. I don't shoot doubles, so i'm not that concerned too concerned that it's one shot.

They are lightweight and tend to kick you around.

Other than that, they're decent shotguns in general.

I don't know enough about trapshooting to make any sort of recommendation.

I've seen a guy at the trap range with a single-barrel H&R Topper and a lace-on recoil pad, probably in the same price range you're looking at, and he was having a great time. Yes, my doubles cost me a bundle, but you can have fun with just about anything. Only thing I'd recommend is look for a 28" barrel with a modified choke. You'll do well! :)

If I was going the Single shot route, I would opt for the slightly more expensive Topper Classic Deluxe model. It is the same the same basic action, but with a real walnut stock, vent rib, and interchangeable choke tubes. They are usually around $155-$175 dollars.

I believe they use mossberg/winchester chokes.

I shoot wobble trap with my Pardner 410 and usually get low 20's with it. The trigger on mine is very nice.

I agree though, you'll REQUIRE at least a Limbsaver with 20 and 12ga. My 20 kicks pretty good...which I'm selling...
