The new law for California handguns states that private party transfers are exempt from the law. I am about to buy a P1345RR from a man about 5 hours away but still in the state of CA. According to the "list" this gun is not legal! All I see are P1345ER and P1345SR. Is there a difference? Can he ship the gun to my local FFL dealer and it still be a private party transfer? Any help would be greatly appriciated as I do not want to drive 5 hours to pick it up! Thanks!

Private party to private party transfer,.... you both have to be "physically" present at the dealer making the DROS transfer,... if you ask to send this to you dealer,...then it becomes a dealer transaction,.. therefore the handgun has to be in the approved list....

sorry,... i know it is a pain in the a$$,...but that's how CA DOJ explained to me, when i emailed them.

goodluck....

Man this law is a joke! Can I do the transfer on a Sat or Sun? That would be the only time I could drive down there. And it's actually only 2 hours:D
