Wheeeeee......
Gunna have a 10mm !
Picked up a cherry P-16 barrel today for $80 Aus & now I get to "experiment" with an even hotter cartrige as soon as I get it reamed out to accecpt the 10.
Better learn to tuck & duck guys as I tend to shoot high.... ;)
Now to get a 24lb(?) recoil spring and some serious INDUSTRIAL strength eye protection.
Will give y'all a range report as soon as it's finished.
Lucky for me I've been picking up once fired cases for a few months now, in anticipation of my need for speed. :D

Wow...a 16-shot 10-mm!? THIS I NEED to have. Do the standard mags work? Can it stand up to regular use of 10-mm? What do you change besides the barrel and the spring? Where did you get the barrel? I need one of these!

JR1, hopefully the mags feed ok... Don't know yet ! ;)
A .40 S&W bbl "reamed" out to accept the 10mm is the cheap way to go.
The Para Pro Shop has barrels for $95, so it wouldn't cost all that much U.S. :D
Been recommended to use a 26lb recoil spring but somethin' along a SprinCo or Harrts recoil reducer probably would be better.
Will post test results as soon as I get "The Beast" finshed ! :)

What's the big deal? Para produced 10 m.m. prototypes a long time ago. If you really "have to have them" you and your buddies start calling the Para dealers & Para Distributors in your area demanding a 10 m.m. Para. As soon as they think there's a bunch of money in it, you'll see the gun produced. Normally Para manufactures to orders of 15 (or so) from it's distributors. Might take a bigger quantity of 10 m.m.'s to get them to move. Anyway, it's much nicer to see a frame marked "P16-10" than "customize" a P16-40.

Diamondback, 9 posts since the 27th of January 1999 !!??
If the TFL members complained to their FFL holders for a 10mm Para in the same way you post here, it will be the year 2099 before Para gets around to makin' them !..LOL ;)

Finally got to shoot the P-16 with the 10mm barrel installed - WOW !! :D
The .40 cal mags accept the 10mm cases just fine & the gun feeds/ejects as well as it does the .40's.
Crushed the case mouths of 2 cases by leaving the standard 18lb recoil spring in, changed it to the 24lb spring - NO PROBLEMS !
Point of aim is still the same but does this gun have a bit more muzzle rise with the 10mm or WHAT !......Big GRIN :D
The 10mm certainly does do a better job on the 10 Pins than the .40 S&W, as shown by the backwards momementum they displayed upon bein' nailed by me !
Only had 80 cases to load up so I ran 2 full 17rnd mags through for a reliability test & it passed with flying colours.
Let a R.O. & a coupla other guys have a shot & they were all IMPRESSED - They have all shot it with the .40 bbl in & absolutely loved the 10mm loads.
Guess we're all a bunch of power junkies at my club....lol ;)
The Chronographs battery was flat so I couldn't get a reading but next time I'll be sure to take a fresh one with me.
I was firing Lead 200gr Conical points in Win & PMC cases. No bulging, no primer problems, only the bloody big grin on my face when it went BANG!

Gotta love the 10mm, albeit if only in small doses before switching back to the slightly saner .40 S&W the gun was designed for. ;)
Now I'm truly in "Para-Dise" ! :)

Shot with the 10mm barrel last night.
200gr LTC
The 8.5gr of HS6 was good.
The 9.0gr of HS6 was better.
The 9.5gr of HS6 was a teeny bit too much !
Slight case bulge with the 9.5gr load, will try 9.2 for a max loading.
Let the R.O's on duty have a shot.
Again, they were IMPPESSED!
One of the R.O's girlfriends had a go too & really wouldn't give the gun up !
Had a BLAST.
Have asked 2 Aussie compatriots to see if any local shops have some AA#9 around to feed my power cravings...lol
Updates will follow as I "create" some new Franken Loads. [:-)
