Para Ordinance 7.45 LDA?????

Well its bit me again. I am considering purchasing one of the 7.45 LDA stainless. It is in stainless steel, holds 7 rounds but has a compact size slide, uses standard 1911 mags, is VERY flat, and has that sweet LDA trigger. The trigger may not seem like much to a dyed in the wool 1911 fan but to a guy that is used to the double/single action triggers of Sigs and S&W Autos it seems real nice. Matter of fact it is almost like the .45 ACP pistol I wished Kahr would build.
At my dealer a pistol like the pic is $700.00 and change. He also has one with a spurless hammer, holds 6 rounds, and no beavertail on the grip safety for $620.00.

Down sides for me;
I am left handed so the safety is on the wrong side. How much trouble is it to install an ambi safety?
Neither pistol has night sights.

Comments? Thoughts?

left handed

from the picture you might be able to reverse. I am left handed also, and I have found that if you put a stronger mag release spring in the gun it is much less likely you can accidentally pop it. Wolff sometimes has springs that they know work for other purposes but are not cataloged. I have the same problem now on a Smith 4054...the factory says the catch can be reversed, but they wont sell the part. Only want me to send the gun back.

I have one and love it. Shoots great and very accurate. I have the C7.45. I would definitly buy another and did. A full size 14.45 LDA the triggers are great. Good Luck

My experience with Para-Ordnance has also been excellent.

I have a 7.45 LDA and it is a great gun. Super accurate, 100% reliable and great trigger.

My experience with the company has also been outstanding.

I just ordered a C6 and am anxiously awaiting it's arrival.

I also have another 7.45 being held by my dealer.

I like these guns and the company!

I don't think you can go wrong with a Para!

Good luck.

Sincerely,

Tom C

A compact 1911 in 45ACP with that wonderful, liability reducing double action only trigger. Could life get any better? I am thinking about getting one.

Para...Colt in Disguise???

I have a Colt 1991A and recently looked at a Para at a local shop...seems that the slide and frame are virtually identical in every respect; both my pistol and the Para were field stripped, and there was absolutely no difference with exception of the Para DA trigger and pivot pin, prompting my dealer to state that the frame and slide may indeed be of Colt manufacture. Any thoughts?

Alnamvet,

That would be very surprising to me if the Para LDA frame and slide was in fact manufactured by Colt since Para is a Canadian company and to my knowledge (albeit limited) all of their production is done in Canada.
