Para-Ord c7.45 LDA

It's been a while since I requested opinions from the folks on this forum. Well, I need your insight again.
I am thinking of buying a Para-Ordnance C7.45LDA (Companion) and was wondering if anyone has had any experuience with this gun. It hasn't been on the market for very long, so the opportunity to shoot one is relatively slim.
The people that I have spoken to who have shot an LDA, tell me the trigger pull is unbelievable. Several magazine articles have stated the same. I just hope that these folks aren't just repeating what they have read.
I normally carry a single action .45, but this new design seems to be very interesting.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I have fired the P14.45 LDA and the P7.45 LDA. The trigger really is very nice. It feels different than any other 1911 trigger, but it is very nice.

Palomine,

I have shot my friend's 16.40 LDA half a dozen times.

And the LDA trigger is just like what everyone says it is... "Unbeliveable" for a DAO pistol.

Was chatting with a "18 years in" Marine in Quantico yesterday who got a C745 last week. He took it to the range. He shot out the black at 50 yards. Quote "If I could convince Uncle Sam to replace our current side arm for this one, the US Marines would be a lot better off".

Why would one want an LDA if you own a SA 1911? I ask because I'm in the process of deciding what would be best for me. Is it the "cocked and locked" discomfort thing?

Thanks

I'm kind of torn about the whole LDA concept. Our shop has a NIB P7.45 LDA which looks gorgeous and has a very nice trigger pull, but something about a 1911 with a pivoting trigger just doesn't look right. Also, it's strange to see an uncocked-and-locked 1911...that's just weird. Other than that, they look like fine pistols, and the trigger pull really is something else.

You should see the looks I got shooting IDPA witha seecamp-triggered 1911, (load make ready, let the hammer down, safety on, holster, never saw so many confuzzled SO's) hope that LDA works better than my FrankenColt:D That 14 lb DA trigger is a bear.

Seriously, its a cool looking pistol, and supposedly a da trigger that is unbeleiveably light.

It's not the cocked and locked thing. If I buy this gun it will be to replace a Kimber Ultra CDP. Unfortunately, this gun was beautiful to look at, and was very accurate for a gun with a 3" barrel. The problem was when IT wanted to shoot. I'm a small man and not all guns are concealable for me. I know of one person at the range that I shoot at that owns a CS745 LDA. The problem is running into him when I'm there.
Thanks all for your comments. This is not the first time that you folks have helped to make a gun buying decision.

Just shot it last weekend.. great piece.

someone asked why a double action when you can have a single.. the reason for is that a single action is too easy to have an acidental discharge. Ive been shooting 1911s for 20 year and am nervous that if I ever have to pullwhen the xxxx hits the fan, that i may have an unplanned discharge due to nerves and paying more attention to the target than I am my trigger finger... just my 2 cents

davidkxx,

Just wanted to let all of you, and the rest of you great folks know that I should be getting my new LDA on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Your experience, opinions, and input are invaluable to me.
Thanks again !

Hello,
I am new to this Forum Board and I would like to say that so far it kicks a*s. I have been pondering on the the thought of buying a C7.45. I have a Springfield Armory 1911 that I love. I wanted a Double Action .45 with a semi short barrel. I had been looking at the Para's and decided on the C7.45. I called my FFL buddy on Monday and had him order me one. I was a littled scared on the purcahse because I couldn't find any feed back untill tonight when I found this Forum. All the feed back has insured me on the purchase. I CAN"T WAIT TO GET IT!!!!! Thanks

I bought a C7.45 LDA the other day. I have nothing but good things to say about it - accurate, awesome trigger, reliable. But I do not yet shoot it as well as my Kimber or my Glocks - the trigger is different, and will take a bit of getting used to.

Palomine- I have the C6.45 LDA, the 12.45 LDA, and the 14.45 LDA. I'm quite happy with all of them. The trigger pull is very sweet for a DAO. The pistols are more accurate than I am.

I think the whole reason the LDA exists is for people with C&L phobia. I've accidentally bumped my thumb safety off too many times to carry a single action C&L. Perhaps once I find an IWB holster that really protects the thumb safety, I'll try carrying a single action 1911.
