Para LDA in .40S&W

Just put a Para-Ordnance LDA in .40S&W on lay-away. Should pick it up next week after I get my reenlistment bonus. Plan to shoot it in the much anticipated IPSC/USPSA Production Division if we can ever get it going. Any one out there have one of these babies yet? One dry fire at the gun shop convinced me that all the great things I've heard about it are true. This sure seems to be double-action done right! Can't wait to get it and start practicing. I'll shoot it in the Limited Division until Production comes online. Two main questions. 1) I've never owned a Para before and I'm not sure where to get a good set of wood double-diamond grips for it, and 2) I've heard that during cleaning I should never actuate the trigger with the slide removed unless I want several springs of various shapes and sizes to fly out of the weapon. What are your thoughts?

Brownells has a great supply of products for the Para...I have different types on my Paras, and agree the double diamond checkered pattern is the way to go. I can't decide if I like the look of wood or the toughness of micarta, though.

You should never drop the hammer of any semi auto when the top half is off the gun. In the same class as just dropping the slide on an empty chamber...beats up the gun for no good reason.

Does anyone know if standard P14 parts (grip panels) will fit the LDA? Also, any rumors of an LDA "Signature" model?
