I fired about 200 rounds yesterday and day before. Not at paper, just plinking and ringing some steel. The springs are "robust" to say the least, and the trigger is a little stiff. I will probably shoot a couple of bricks through it and see how much it loosens up, if any. The trigger will have to be substantially lighter to get any degree of real accuracy. Some Rugers "wear in" to the extent that no work or spring change is needed, and others don't. We will see. I love the gun. I realize that old-time craftsmanship just isn't possible at the factory now, and the fact that I have been shooting 60s and early 70s era S&W Kit Guns makes a comparison unfair.
Super, thanx for the info. I am almost 100% decided and about to pull the trigger on the purchase. They aren't going to be easy to get forever.

lcpiper, I'm glad you found one. That is a pretty good price, too. I have seen them bringing a whole lot more. I hope you enjoy yours.
I have been shooting it some each day. It is about the smallest package that I can manipulate fairly well with arthritic, fat, carpal-tunnelled fingers. Especially if it is a little cold. It is just a ton of fun to shoot, though. It is a plinker, and a good one at that. I am going to check to see if Wolff has a replacement spring kit. Ironically, the two fingers I have more pain in are my trigger finger and thumb on my shooting (right) hand. After a shooting session, my thumb wants to start cramping from fighting that mainspring. One thing, though, I have been shooting some old ammo that has gotten wet at some time, and I haven't had a misfire.
We have had 6.2 inches of rain here since Sunday, but I have found time between showers to bounce around some tin cans and pine cones.

Try a two handed grip and cock it with your off hand. It may help, but you will have to reload more often
And please post if you get that trigger sorted out, I am sure I'll be looking to do the same although there is a gunsmith here who looks to be competent enough to handle it.
