Pair of .17s

Went to my friends shop yesterday, and he bestowed upon me a pair of .17s he managed to get in. I couldn't make up my mind, so I bought both. :D I topped the NEF off with Burris med. ZEE Rings, and a Bushnell 6x18x40 scope. The NEF has a darn good trigger out of the box...probably the best I've seen on an NEF or H&R...no creep, breaks at just under 4# with just a touch of overtravel. The Taurus is a typical rimfire revolver, DA is heavy but consitstant, SA is light and crisp. It times great, and locks up solid. I will probably invest in a Wolff spring kit for it. I got his last 5 boxes of Hornady .17 ammo. I am anxious to get to the range this week to get em lined in. Then, its off to call in some 'yotes.:)

The 17 tracker has just hit. I got some amazing accuracy from one of these. makes you wonder if they line-bored the chambers.

stainless job marked Weaver I canabilized off my 1" diameter aimpoint. The scope is the Weaver 1.5-4x variable. makes things easy. I also used it with a Weaver 1.5-4x pistol scope that really makes things easy. The base is from Taurus and is a really nifty item.

Got the Taurus to the range again today. One thing I've noticed is that the gun is shooting better as it gets broke in. I shot 70 rounds through it today at 50 yards from a rest. My worst group was 3.380". My best was this 1.990". The average was about 2 1/4". The tad larger hole in the lower right of the 10 ring is where the bullet struck a staple behind the paper and started to expand on impact.
