Painted my P320 Fullsize grip module

Being as disappointed as I was in seeing the OD P320 frames in person, I decided to just try my hand at some paint. My first time ever painting a gun... so I was a little nervous, but since I could replace it for $40, I didn't care too much.

I think it turned out better than I expected. I realize it's not everyone's cup of tea, but we'll see how it goes.

I used the Rustoleum Camo paint from Wal Mart.

It wasn't really a conscious choice, I just stopped on my way home from work and got what i thought would go together. It's very flat in color, much like the stock finish. It's a very thin coat all the way around, there are still some spots where the black comes through.

All I did was pull the FCU out, stick a wadded up paper towel in the grip and a strip of masking tape across the top. I hung it from a coat hanger through the take-down pin holes out on the patio and went to town. Just a few very light hits. Pulled off 2 small palm pieces from the trees by the pool for the texture.

I'll try to get some better pics in the sunlight over the next few days.

I think it turned out great. My only concern would be about durability and whether it will look as good after some use. But I guess you could always redo it.

I think it looks pretty sweet, likely a lot better than I could do my first time.

When did you pick up the fullsize?

Thanks man. I got it about a week and a half ago. When I decided to send my C to Robert Burke for his trigger work, I didn't want to be without the 320 for very long so I bought the Fullsize as well. The C is already finished and is currently in transit back to my FFL. :) I will post a comparison it and if I think it was worth the money. The turn around time was definitely a big surprise. He received the gun last Monday late afternoon and called me on Friday afternoon to let me know it was completed.

Next best option to Bruce Gray without waiting months.

I've been doing some comparison testing between the P320 and VP9. Not completed yet. I'm going to run through a complete 1,000 rounds before I make up my mind. I'm not even half way yet. It's quite close. There are some things I like better about each of them. I will say that I'm really liking the P320 though! And you know that I already love the VP9.

Uncle - That looks fantastic!

I find the P320 series very interesting. They have my attention and soon they'll probably have my money too...
