The event was held. It was swell.

Stand by (or sit if you're lazy) for pics.

The posse.

9mmMike clipping a clay that was way too far away. One for six on this station as I recall!

Geoff and his budget Kriegoff (sp?) 28 ga. Yes, he shot a 28 ga. to give the rest of us a "sporting" chance. He paid for his kindness with a second place showing though.

One of the few shots of our fine photographer, Tom, and his scary combat-ready Marine Magnum. Geoff was soooo jealous. I think I heard him offering a trade.

One of 9mmMike's guests, another Mike (like you can have enough Mikes!), and his 870 28" Express running a modified choke.

Here is Mike showing us yet another reason that the PC (or not-PC if you wish) dimples in the new 870's are a PITA.
This is the "this shell must have been manufactured backwards" drill. On a non-dimpled 870, you can just pull the mag cap, spring and follower to slide the backwards shell out but now...................thanks Big Green!

This is another guest shooter, Dan. He could only stay half the day. We were moving along mighty slooooooooow.
Dan was shooting some sort of Spanish OU in 12 ga. It was not a Lanbar.
I suspect he could have given the top finishers a run if he could have stayed for the day.

And finally....

Soda and his 870 Express 12 ga. bringing doom upon all things orange and airborne. Our highest-scoring shooter at this, the first, TFL Blessed Clay Bust.
Saturdays are good!

Now that is an interesting shot of You mike shooting rabbits. You can see puffs of dirt from both your shots and a piece of the first rabbit you hit just passing the framework of the cage.

And Mr Soda, we did not count all your short shucks as lost birds, otherwise you would not have been high gun :p

I should add that we did not apply any handicapping for this shoot.
We probably will for the next one.
The 28 ga. would have cleaned-up.
Geoff - can you supply the correct numbers?
Mike

The handicapping system developed by the Connecticut Travellers Sporting Clays Association is as follows.

Per 100 target course:

Pump and SXS shotguns receive a 5 bird handicap regardless of gauge.

16 GA guns get 3 birds
20 GA guns get 5 birds
28 GA guns get 10 birds
410 bore guns get 20 birds

So a 410 bore SXS would get a 25 bird handicap.

To get the proper handicap, the shooter must not exceed the maximum loads allowed for each gauge.

12 and 16 ga 1 1/8oz
20 GA 7/8oz
28 GA 3/4 oz
410 bore 1/2 oz
