Attention to all PA residents. I got an alert from Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association. A brief summary: Pennsylvania House Representative Samuel Rohrer from the 130th district in Berks County is on our side. He's started a petition to show PA residents oppose the recent gun grabbing legislation introduced to our state house. Because this is coming from a Pennsylvania House Representative it is believed it will carry weight.
If you live in PA and believe in the Bill of Rights, please sign it here: petition

Below is the full text of the alert:

Howdy Pennsylvania Firearm Owners,

In our last alert we let you all know about a host of misguided,
pointless, and generally bad bills up for consideration in the Pennsylvania
House of Representatives. Now it shouldn't come as a surprise that we
here at the Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association think that laws
creating complicated registration schemes, banning commonly used
semi-automatic rifles, and other such nonsense are terrible, but have we got a surprise for you!

So does Pennsylvania House Representative Samuel Rohrer from the 130th
district in Berks County. In fact he thinks they're such bad ideas that
he's put up a petition to collect names of people who agree so we can
all oppose these ridiculous bills that serve only to make criminals out
of the good guys like you and me.

Now keep in mind, this isn't your average petition that no one will
read, this is a serious petition created by one of our elected officials
in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives!

You can read Mr. Rohrer's full press release regarding the petition
here:

http://gw_pahouseit_district128.psin...25711.76&gen=1

Now, there are two ways to sign this petition:

Your first option is to visit his district office located at:

29 Village Center Drive
Suite A7
Reading, PA 19607
(610) 775-5130

Or, you can sign it online at:

http://www.reprohrer.com/?sectionid=73§iontree=73

We strongly urge everyone reading this alert to sign the petition one
way or another. If you live nearby it may be worth it to head over and
sign it in person. We have a chance to show our elected officials that
we are a serious voting block and that we will not stand for having our
rights questioned and infringed from every angle.

After you've signed this petition we also urge you to forward this
information to everyone you know who cares about the right to keep and bear
arms. Post it on other Internet discussion boards, email it to your
friends, family, and co-workers who support safe, responsible firearm
ownership. It is very important we get as many people as possible signing
this petition!

Lastly, regardless of whether you live in Mr. Rohrer's district or not,
I would encourage everyone to write him a letter or make a phone call
to his office and thank for him standing up and calling these bills out
for what they are, and defending firearm owners state wide. It's just
as important to voice our opinions in support of good action, as it is
to voice our opinions against bad ones. Letting Mr. Rohrer know that we
appreciate his support and straight talk will encourage him to keep it
going and provide another voice in support of our rights against the
onslaught of the politicians who want to take them away.

His main office address and phone number is:

45 East Wing
PO Box 202128
Harrisburg, PA 17120-2128
(717) 787-8550

Until next time,

Perhaps a better title might get more people to look at this thread - like 'PA State Rep wants to Oppose ANY new Gun Control legislation'

Or words to that effect.

Bump for a great idea.

I signed it after receiving the same email alert from Dan.

It's been posted by someone everywhere I regularly visit on the web.

You can also print the petition for distribution to your local range/club/gun store, etc.

I saw a link to the petition two days ago and I was on it like a fat kid on a donut.:D Passed it on to my hunting camp members too.

I just signed it. I also e-mailed it to my fellow shooters & hunters, printed off a few copies to pass around and will be posting it at my gun club bulletin board tomorrow as I did not see one there Sunday.
