Regarding Tuesdays primary elections, PA Gunnies registered Republican might find the following worth the time involved in reading. I received the below appearing today from FOAC, Firearms Owners Against Crime. Toomey is unopposed for another senate run on the Republican side. Speaking personally, I don't really trust the guy, I could of course be wrong, however I do wonder as to whether or not the senator got the message re firearms and the fairy tale that is Gun Control. Read on, and thanks for your time and attention.

On Tuesday April 26th, we (FOAC & PA4SP) ask you to send the duplicitous Senator Pat Toomey a message. At the poll write-in "2A" for the Second Amendment and remind Pat Toomey that the 2nd Amendment is still important to you and fellow Pennsylvanians. Pat Toomey is running for reelection and is unopposed in the Republican Primary, his nomination is assured. But we can send him a simple, anonymous and powerful message by casting a write-in vote for the 2nd Amendment (2A.)

Senator Pat Toomey and his staff have tried to buffalo gun advocates into supporting him without supporting us. Now Toomey's campaign is running an ad with the endorsement from a liberal gun-grabbing board member from Ceasefire PA. His own campaign produced this endorsement. But know this, the ad isn't run throughout the whole state, because his conservative base would abandon him. Pat Toomey doesn't deserve your vote in this Primary, but the 2nd Amendment does.

Let’s also NOT forget his support for Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor when he was campaigning in 2009 (for the US Senate) and said ‘he’ would vote to confirm her. She has been a disaster for the 2nd Amendment. His other judicial nominations have continued the leftist, anti-2nd amendment positions in the lower Federal Courts.

Please write-in "2A" for U.S. Senate.

If you want to work a poll and spread this message, contact us: info@foacpac.org

Review more of the story below:

In good faith, FOAC and PA4SP and other gun rights groups made every effort to work with Senator Pat Toomey to educate him on the rights of law-abiding Pennsylvanians owning and purchasing firearms. With all the legal gun owners in Pennsylvania we felt it critically important for him to know that the 2nd Amendment deserves protection 'and' that it is his duty. Sadly, this effort hasn't been successful. When board members and associate organizations were able to speak to executive level staffers in Toomey's office, they were assured of his desire to not reintroduce the infamous Toomey-Manchin gun control legislation that pushed universal background checks.

Many gun owners consider Toomey-Manchin bad legislation and a disingenuous effort to justify appeasing the gun-grabbers after the Newtown shooting at the expense of our rights. The dissatisfaction from gun owners has been loud, clear and heavy.

They (Sen. Toomey and his staff) knew the legislation was meaningless and wouldn't have stopped the mass shootings their rhetoric intimated it would, would lead to the registration of 'all' gun owners and would only further hamstring legal gun owners. We, FOAC, have had ‘many’ meetings (especially over the last 3 years) with their staff and the Senator himself where ‘none’ of our documentation has ‘ever’ been refuted.

However, we accepted the statements made by Toomey's staff, and told you, his constituents, that we felt that Toomey had learned from the mistakes of Toomey-Manchin (a bill originally coming from anti-gun Sen. Schumer).

FOAC and PA4SP quickly came to realize, that what Pat Toomey's staff said and what Pat Toomey really thought weren't the same. Worse, his staff would slander the people working hard to protect our rights and call us liars.

Pat Toomey didn't care about your 2nd Amendment rights and would do whatever was politically expedient to get reelected. If that meant cozying up to anti-gun groups like Ceasefire PA, and throwing legal, law-abiding firearm owners under his campaign bus, then he would do it.

Toomey-CeaseFire-Facebook

Now Senator Pat Toomey's reelection campaign is running an ad featuring the endorsement of a board member of Ceasefire PA, Nancy Grogan.

See the ad here: http://youtu.be/a1VzoKKd2-A

Ceasefire PA is an anti-gun organization that has worked incessantly against lawful gun owners. They couch their positions in stopping violence, but push an agenda that will only detrimentally impact legal gun owners and they don’t even recognize our ‘right to self-defense’!

We ask you to send Pat Toomey a strong message on Election Day. Remind him that the 2nd Amendment still matters more than ever and write-in "2A" for the U.S. Senate.

Please share this with friends and family.

Thanks for your support and know that FOAC will not stop fighting to protect our right to own the tools for the defense of our families, our property and our nation.

If he is running unopposed, why didn't a gun rights group field a candidate?

All this write-in campaign is a load of hooey, just cry and whine and do nothing. Someone could be on the ballot for the cost of a filing fee, is that correct?

I cannot speak for what others do or don't do. As to being on the ballot for the cost of a filing fee, I cannot say, for I don't know. Re the validity or worth of a "write in" campaign, you might be correct, though possibly not.

What is writing in "2A" going to accomplish? As far as the supervisor of elections is concerned, that is a non vote. Toomey will still win even with just one vote.

Pretty lame idea, if you ask me.

If enough people write in 2nd Amendment in the Primary as a protest vote it may be of some value as he will know how many people think that way. (Vote lesser of two evils in the General though, duh).

As long as he's the only person running, he won't care what you put on the ballot. He's guaranteed his nomination, he couldn't care less what you guys think.

Toomey has already acted as a politician who couldn't care less about his constituents' rights, he certainly will not care about this campaign. The only thing that counts is an opposing candidate.

The entire electorate of Pennsylvania could sit out in protest, and Toomey would still win just by casting his own vote for himself.

The gun groups should be ashamed of themselves for this ridiculous concept. All they needed to do was field a candidate and they chose this approach instead.

I think that outside of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, PA is a whole other group of people and that we are forgotten quite often.

Thanks for the heads up about Toomey. I didn't read this until too late and voted for him.

ilikemynamealso:

I think that the Republicans might well accomplish something less than desirable, that is blowing the entirety of the elections. Hope I'm wrong.
