i went to the gun show in greensburg PA this AM
greengate mall , west of greensburg on route 30
it's open 2moro too
woke up at 6:30 and was fed & in line at the opening at 8 am
~600 tables
by 10 am the place was pretty much sholder to sholder arround the tables
a fair amount of ar stuff
right in the door was a dealer with Bushies for ~850-950
found another dealer with a more reasonable $750 20 inch a2 target
he claimed to have more at his shop & he had 6 configs there
i saw a Y2K limited bushie
i wonder if this is going to be a collectable 20 years from now
sherluck was there with a ton of parts
carriers, bolts uppers, used A1 stocks, they had a light profile chrome lined colt upper...
i was looking for a postban flat toped 20 inch didn't find one
most of the uppers i saw were preban
several dealers were there with carbon 15's
around 1300 for the rifle, it looked neat but
the huge F/S selection paint work was garfy
preban colts were available for ~1400. i saw at least 5 in that ballpark
no beanies, all gun stuff!
saw a nib preban AK for 1350
a fair number of USA parted AKs
not a ton of ammo...
didn't see any hirt .223
i saw a spas 12, man is that thing is huge
they wanted a kilo buck for it
i ended up bying some manuals, some break free, and a scope mount from sherluck
used 30s were about 17-20 & looked pretty rough
most places had unmarked new USA's for 20
nobody had more than 10 mags in view
i almost bought 6, new in wrap, green followered, center 30 rounders marked at 17 bucks each...
then another guy spotted the post ban date...
i thought i had a deal when i found those centers...
oh well i just got 2 NIW dpms 30s for 20 each last week
can't win em all
nice group of people in attendance
seemed like pretty normal americans having a fun day out
next time i am bringing more cash (many place were not credit card enabled)
those AK 410 shotguns were pretty cool!
it wasn't like any of the prices were that great, but it was nice to see that much hardware in one place. Next time i would like to bring along my digital camera and take some gun portraits for my website
