(KDKA) PITTSBURGH Pittsburgh officials have been concerned with the number of shootings around the city in recent weeks.

After five separate shootings Thursday night, that concern has reached new levels.

Pittsburgh Police Chief Dom Costa is implementing a new hotline to get guns out of the hands of young people.

The idea is to have people call anonymously about where guns are stashed without any repercussions.

The hotline is not yet in place so Costa advises people to continue calling 911.

One more reason I hate Pittsburgh...

This place has become a socialist hellhole in the last few years.

As if the criminals are going to call the hotline. It just reinforces the perception that all guns are illegal and bad.

Why do you expect criminals would be the only people capable or interested in reporting where a 10 year old has hidden a stolen gun?
