Mine's a riot too!

They:
1. listed my height as 509
2. reversed my hair color and eye color (green hair?!)
3. mispelled my city (6 letters!)

Gentlemen (Crimp,musher,PDshooter):

Seeing your comments, I looked at mine, renewed in 2004. I live in PA, and have held carry permits/licenses for better than 20 years.

Mine is laminated. The photo makes me look sort of like a thin Santa Claus. Interestingly, it shows my height as 600. I wonder as to what units of measure the issuing authority was dealing in or with.

Interestingly, it shows my Social Security Number, shades of Identity Theft. Even more interesting is the fact that the Coal and Iron Cops (Pennsylvania State Police) got knocked down on their requirement for that particular datum, see Stollenwerk V. Miller, 3rd U.S. District Court. There was some talk of the Coal and Iron Cops appealing but I don't know if they ever actually did.

One thing that really amazes me. Our Harrisburg Gang, that's the state legislature, when they "reformed" the Concealed Carry Licensing routine in 1980 or thereabouts, going from discretionary to shall issue, did NOT inject a training requirement into the soup. That was, in my view, sort of amazing. Someone might have pointed out the significant virtues of The KISS Principle (Keep It Simple Stupid) to them. Amazing that they listened.

600 means 6 feet 0 inches. 611 would mean 6 feet 11 inches. I think you get the idea. It's a law enforcement national standard way of writing height. It's because the data field for height in the FBI NCIC computer is three digits long. NCIC is the national database that all LE agencies have access to. It's where information on wanted felons, missing persons, found persons, and some stolen property is kept.

Please realize that Center County, like my County in PA is a rural area with little industry. Dogpatch if you will...They have a very small Sheriff's Dept and few resources. Can't squeeze major taxes out of the locals as they are poor folk...

That piece of paper is as legitimate as some fancy plastic with the magnetic strip license you get in the "Blue" states.

Frankly I prefer simplicity, and not wasting tax dollars on super sophisticated licenses that sit in my wallet their entire life.

Its a legal document so who cares what it looks like. Wouldnt care if the drew my picture in crayon...lol.

I dont know it I would have posted a pic with all the info including your permit number and DOB

looks like you could stand to lose a few pounds also ;)

I think mine's from 2005 or 2004, and is laminated. I also live in this state, so maybe I got the extra 10c worth of plastic covering.
:)

Centre County, Pennsylvania, isn't exactly hurting for tax revenue.

Sure, they could be doing better.

Centre County is home to Penn State University. The amount of money that the University pumps into that county is absolutely insane.

My family is from Mifflin County, the next county south. Dad was borough engineer for Lewistown, until budget restraints forced him into retirement at the end of last year.

Mifflin County is, in the grand scheme of things, a lot worse off than Centre as far as finances goes. The only saving grace for Lewistown is that it's 30 miles south of Penn State, so a lot of people can work there, and it's 60 miles north of Harrisburg, so others work there.

If it weren't for those two factors, Lewistown would be another Sharon.

Being a non-resident, I'm surprised you got the full five year plan. Also it makes it much harder to sign on line 17 after it's been laminated..... :D
