PA CCW Question

I recently went to apply for my CCW Permit. One part asks for two character references that are county residents. I only recenly moved into Lehigh County. I'm not sure how any of my co-workers would react if I asked them to be a reference. And I'm not sure I want any of them knowing I have the permit anyway. Any suggestions?

I'd say give the names of people who know you, whether they are county residents or not. The Sheriff cannot use that to deny you a permit, and I'm pretty certain that the state law says you have to provide references, but NOT that they have to live in the county in which you're applying.

I'd say they just don't want to be bothered making a long-distance phone call.

I got my non-resident PA permit from the Mifflin County Sheriff yesterday. In the references section I put the names of two VIRGINIA residents. Why? Because I've lived in DC metro for 10 years now, and the people I used to know in Mifflin County don't really know me any more.

Even so, I had my permit in less than 3 hours, but I'm certain the fact that both my family and I know the sheriff helped.

I used my cleaning woman and the Chief of Police. They didn`t check. I think it`s just a formality unless there`s something on your record. Face it, the answers are in the computer.

PA is a shall issue state. They can't deny you for using references outside of the county. My references were not called either.

My References were called and My Employer was called. I live in Delaware County. Lehigh County isn't the Center of Liberalism so I would throw a few hints at some of your workers and ask some of them about that stuff.

ArmySon thats a Good Quote!
