P9s

I have read many good inputs on this Hk model, unfortunely no longer in production. I am very interested in purchasing one to add to my collection, however, I am not sure which model to get, 9mm, .45 or .45 target.
Yes, you might say, why not get all of them? very tempting.... but I am no Bill Gates. I am leaning toward the .45 target, but need more inputs on its role as a combat gun. I just do not want a target gun but also a combat gun. I assume the target model is more fit to punch holes, and not to withstand the harsh weather. Or am I wrong?
Any input would be greatly appreciated....

I have a P9S Target in .45 ACP. It is the most desirable of those you listed. There was also a Target in 9mm. The triggers are some of the best ever available on a stock gun. Better than my Browning GP Comp and comparable to a SIG P210. The P9s is accurate, but has noticable recoil and muzzle blast. I would suspect that in 9mm both are less. One version that you did not mention is the Competition. I know they made them in 9mm, but I have never seen one in .45. The Competition has the same great trigger found on the Target models, but also has a longer compensated barrel and a large 'ergonomic' target type grip. The competiton is more expensive, about double the price of a Target.

What about using the .45 target as a combat gun? is the only difference on the trigger and adjusted sight compared to a regular p9s?

I believe the only differences between the Combat version and Target version are the adjustable sights, adjustable trigger pull and adjustable trigger stop.

The P9S is fairly rugged, except for the recoil buffer - which tends to wear out quickly.

ooops

See Pic attached.

I'd choose the 9mm combat for your purposes. Sights will have less drag on holster and they don't need to be adjusted anyway. The trigger is awesome stock. This is a fast shooting and extremely accurate gun. Very reliable as well. Good luck.
