P99

Just got my P99 serial# is under 009000. Believe I've read some comments about slide sticking. Is there anything I should watch for? Oh yea its a nine. Also is Walther still making these in Germany or has S&W taken over all production?

I just spoke to the people at Earl's Repair Service which specialize in all Walthers. I was told that the only problem that might arise would be possible firing pin breakage.
Walther has a newer beefed up firing pin but won't replace it unless it breaks. This work
is performed free of charge. I was also told
that there is a pin on the trigger assembly that might work itself loose on the models with the old style trigger. The newer triggers are a little more curved towards the
bottom and the pin I spoke of is deeper within the frame making it harder to work loose. They told me not to worry about my P99. If taken care of properly and not abuse d it should never have any problems.
