P99, USP, CZ, etc. legal or banned in California?

Has anyone heard updates on which pistols will and won't be banned in California on January 1st? I know Kel-Tec doesn't plan to sell here after that date. I also understand that Glock and Sig have received "exemptions" from the rule requiring a "positive manual safety" and will still be sold here. I'm really curious about the Walther P99 and the CZ-75 line (including the decocker models). It is frustrating that we probably won't get a complete "official" list until it is too late to buy whatever guns are being banned.

All handguns are considered junk guns in Kalif. until the manufacturers submit test guns of each model and get them certified as 'non-junk guns' by the state certified labs, in order for them to be sold by FFL dealers in the sorry-State after 12/31/00. So even Glock and Sig has to go through the testing process: drop test, reliability test, etc. before they can be sold in the state, come 1/1/01. At least that's my understanding.

Bottom line, if you want something, buy it now. You only have a few months left, what with the gun a month law. 'A gun a month, is all we ask...'

Stocks of handguns in my local shops are already starting to get pretty thin. Either stores are reducing their stock on hand or there is a beginning of a rush to buy... I think the situation will only get worse as it dawns on more people that this may be the last chance to get certain handguns in KA...

Wouldn't surprise me if the shelves get pretty empty by December... Not sure how many of the smaller shops can survive if most handgun sales are banned come January, due to the State dragging on setting up the certification labs, the pricey costs of testing each and every variant for manufacturers, etc.

Remember, SB15 doesn't ban ownership of non-certified handguns, just bans sales by dealers. Private sales of so called 'junk' handguns through FFL dealers are still okay.
