P99 pinches

I have a Walther P99 which I really like. The negative is that the pistol pinches the index finger upon reset after firing. Initally, I thought it was me, but others who have shot it also experience the pinching. Have any other P99 owners out there experienced this? If so, what was the cure? Getting the finger higher on the trigger is an obvious answer, but one quickly gets out of the trigger curve. Thanks.

File down the end of the magazine release a litte where it makes contact with your finger. Try to get it even with the frame.
E-mail me if you want a more detailed explanation. It helped me.

swampy--you must have an early model. There have been changes to the trigger assy. Take a look at the S&W model or a later serial number to see the difference. Last I spoke to S&W about my P99 they said they had not received any parts for the 9mm yet, but would handle warrantee when able.I've never been happy with mine, but just can't seem to part with it. Go to the walther home page and ask MICHAEL. He knows more about the P99 and may be able to help with a solution. www.geocities.com/Pentagon/Quarters/2188/index.html
