P99 9mm w/ Interarms Markings?

I was looking at a used Walther P99 9mm in a local gunshop.

It had the German proof markings on both the slide and frame.

It also had an Interarms marking on the right front of the slide.

Would this have been an early P99 imported before WaltherUSA?

Thanks in advance to all the "Walther People"

Cobra you are correct. Interarms in Virginia was the Walther Importer for years, before Walther USA was formed. This would have to be an early production around '93-'94 model. You can tell by the date code near the proof marks on the right side of the frame. It will be two letters like "AA" which would be a 2000 model. Early 90's models were "J" something I think.

The date codes for the 90's begin with K. KA is 1990, KB is 1991, and so on.

Check the serial number. Sometime after 10000, Walther changed the trigger safety and strengthened the firing pin. For more on the P99, see Walther News and New Stuff.
