P7M8 Questions

Do the P7's hold up well to a diet of +P ammunition? Not like every range session but 200 or so rounds a year of +P.
Can anyone give me some tips on what to look for in a refurbished P7M8? Things to avoid in picking one? What is a fair price for a refurb? I have seen some for 1000.00+ and some for 800.00

I have wanted a P7M8 for a long time and they are not getting any cheaper. Besides, my P-225 wants another 9mm friend to play with!:)

I have put about 400 rounds of +P+ through my P7M8 which has a total of about 5732 rounds through it. I have yet to see any problems. Since refurbs are so expensive now, I would just go ahead and wait for a good deal on a NIB P7

It was designed around the NATO 9mm round. Almost 1300 fps. That's hotter than most current SD ammo specs.

My 1984 PSP has eaten several boxes a year.

That's why we pay $1,000 for a 9mm gun that only has an 8-round mag. The reliability and the accuracy;)

I shoot Georgia Arms 124+P gold dots in mine as a regular range ammo. I like using hollowpoints because the bases don't have exposed lead, and they get fouled pretty easy; and thats my carry ammo. I also don't shoot alot at a sitting either, just enough to keep profecient. They get really hot quick.

It will be fine. When I used to reload I shot only +P pressure ammo through my M8. It has thousands of rounds of +P pressure ammo through it without a hitch--I think they prefer it!

It's all in the design...

The gas piston system of the P7 series (except the K3) is designed to automatically compensate for the variances in loading. The hotter the load the more it'll retard recoil - in theory producing similar 'feel' to a 'standard' load - to both you and the pistol.
