P7M13 vs. P7M8 size

Can someone who has handled and shot both of these describe the difference in size, "grip-ability", and carry-ability.

I have shot a friend's P7M8, and the grip size was fine. I have somewhat short fingers and prefer a Glock19 over the full-size frame of the Glock 17, for reference. The additional capacity of the P7M13 would be very attractive, if the grip is not too big. Unfortunately, nobody around here has either in stock..

thanks

P7M8 vs P7M13

I had and carried a P7M13 for several years before in a fit of insanity I sold it, which I have regretted since. The M13 is a double stack and is a bit thicker than the M8. Some folks with medium to small hands consider the M13 to be somewhat blocky.

I have large hands and liked the way it felt. As a double stack the M13 will be a little heavier but a good gun belt and holster will cure that. The M13 like the M8 is an accurate weapon. Both models are the most accurate 9mm's I have ever shot.

Hope this helps.:)

I really like the M8's. The taper on the grip of the M13 just didn't fit my hands & this is coming from someone who likes shooting the fullsize USPs, which a lot of shooters call 'blocky'

I am a P7 zealot. The M8 or PSP (even better) is the way to go - nice and slim. The M13 is blocky like a brick. Better feeling 9mm hicaps would be the BHP or SIG228.

Does anyone have an airsoft P7M13 and a real M13?

They are supposed to be full size reproductions. I have an P7M8 and compaired it to the airsoft and I like the grip size of the M8 better, you might shell out $20 and get one to compair to your memory.

Toast- that's a good idea.

It sounds like the P7 purists, and those with smaller hands prefer the M8. I used to have a USP40, and the grip size was fine, so maybe a M13 would fit alright.

Had an M13, have an M8.

The M13 is much more butt-heavy (loaded), and the grip is slightly longer, the combination making concealment more difficult.

I have large hands (usp45 fits me great) but the design of the M13 grip made it uncomfortable for me to hold in the lever while operating the trigger.

The M8 is a better-balanced piece IMHO.

I had two P7M13s that I sold a little while ago. Great guns but with my smallish hands, the grip fit wasn't right. I agree that a BHP or SIG would be a better choice for a high capacity pistol. Besides, BHP hi-caps are only $20 a piece! :)

My P7M8 is a much beter fit for me. :)

First, if you are considering buying a non P7M_, then you don't appreciate what makes these pistols so popular.

I have the M8, M13 and M10. My next comment will probably disqualify me, but my favorite handgun, period, is my P7M10. This gun shoots like no other gun. I have large fat hands and the M8 feels smallish in my hand. The M13 is slightly bulkier and heavier, but fits large hands nicely. I have a Matt Del Fatti IWB holster, which holds either M8 or M13 with great authority. This holster fully controls this butt heavy gun. These guns tend pull away from the back during carry, but not with Matt's leather. Having said this, the M8 is a bit more concealable.

The U.S. Park Service uses the M8 and M13 as their carry gun. Last year, I spoke with one of their armorers. He told me that their officers are 50/50 as to which model gets the nod. That being the case, I would highly suggest that you find an M13 and should you not be able to do so, stick with the M8. If you need more than eight shots with that gun, you are probably in bad shape regardless of what you have.

You like the M10 better?

Your Disqualified.

;)

I had an M8 and an M13. I liked the M8 version better. Felt better. Just me. Your results may vary.

Have a look for yourself.

If you have short fingers, the added bulk of the P7M13 will be harder for you to hold/ but not impossible. the P7M13 has lovingly compared to 'holding a brick".

If you are comfortable with the weight of a P7M8, the added weight of a P7M13 will not be noticeable.

Don't forget to consider price and availability of mags.

Either one will be a great addition to anyone's collection, though.

What is all this talk of P7M13 and a brick? I understand the M10 and brick, due to the greatly increased mass of the slide, but the M8 and M13 are not that different. Can't imagine the weight difference as a factor, but the size of your hand and the relative comfort of the grips is very relevant.

BTW: One of the main reasons that my M10 is such a pleasure to shoot is the added weight and the greatly reduced recoil.
