P7M10 Broken Ejector

P7M10 Broken Extractor

My bedside gun is out for a while. I've heard how the extractor wasn't even needed in these guns, but mine chipped one edge and that was that as far as shooting. Something hot sprayed and cut up my hand and the shell just stayed put.

Is this a common problem for the P7's?

I think that I'll send it back to H&K. Looks like a bit of a complicated fix.

Send it back and keep us advised of the progress, step by step.
It is oft said that HK's service has left people wanting (thier guns back). Thankfully HKs needing such service are uncommon.

Actually, it's the extractor that's not needed (in blowback guns).

The ejector's still kinda important, as you found out to your dismay.

Upside: HK's rarely break.
Downside: When they do, it's frequently a time consuming pain in the buttocks to score parts. Best thing would be to have a large HK/LE dealer in your area score you a part.

Try here for parts. HK refered me to them awhile back for some P9 parts which were impossible to find and they had them.

I have it written on two pieces of paper, both ways. They are in
NJ I think.

Thanks for your feedback.

Spoke to H&K customer service. They tell me that a chipped extractor should not inhibit shell ejection, so maybe something else is happening. I'll go carefully through my brass and see if I missed a subtle crack. Anyway, they claim a two to four week turnaround.
