Gents,
Well, my P7 came back. The gun looked great (the matte hardchrome looked dull grey-silver--very modern looking--not pimpy). I shot a few hundred rounds through it (no problem). Then I noticed the slide's finish was peeling on the serations. It was minor, but for $189, it was too much. I called AP&W and they told me to send it back. They also said that they had refinished the gun three times. Apparently, according to their best guess, the previous nickel finish was the culprit (I guess it wouldn't come off around the serrations).
I'll say this, AP&W's owner (Cogan), is a nice guy. He explained the problem to me and assured me that they would do it till they got it right. Also, the finish, other than the problem, looked excellent. The surface was perfect and the color was very classy--my wife described it as "technology grey."
I'll keep you guys posted on future developments.
