Hello friends

I ran into a good deal for a P7M8 and wanted to interpret the markings on the frame and slide.

I have seen a web page before that had a complete description of the codes that H&K used to show maufacture date, proof house, and other interesting information. I can't seem to find it again. Any help?

Look for company name (HK), model number (P7), serial number and quality control stamp (Eagle with N). Then Date code and then proof marks. Proof are as follows:

Single antler (looks like a fox standing on its nose) is Ulm.

Bear (Berlin, of course)

Horse (Colt's Rampant Colt but on all fours - Hannover)

Shield with three crowns (kinda like Bart Simpson - Koln)

Shield with criss crosses inside it (Munchen/Munich - looks like a ham)

Sunburst (13 point star, roadkill, Kiel)

Eagle w/"N" beneath it - Nitro Proof

Date codes are as follows: A = 0, B = 1, C = 2, D = 3, E = 4, F = 5, G = 6, H = 7, I = 8, K = 9

Vigilantibus et non dormientibus jura subveniunt

Thanks guys. TFL can be educational. My favorite P7 is Ulm 1988. Kind of wondered how old the darn thing was.
