P7 owners: Whats your favorite ammo?

Hello. I've had good luck with various warmish handloads using bullets from 100 to 124 grains as well as factory stuff like CorBon 115 gr +P JHP, Triton 125 gr +P HiVel JHP, Remington 115 gr +P JHP to Federal's 115 gr standard pressure JHP.

These are very good little pistols in my opinion.

Best.

I particularly like Sellier & Bellot in 115 gr. Loads and fires reliably and leaves little residue to clean. Fiocchi is also good, but it leaves too much gunk for my liking.

I have also had no problems with CorBon 115 gr +P JHP.

Mike Irwin:

Which hydroshock are you talking about? I have tried the 124g hydrashock (standard pressure) and was underwhelmed with its accuracy. It was ok, but didnt group any better than white box winchester, or S&B.

My P7 has been good. It'll shoot anything I feed it. So, for practice, some kinda FMJ, usually Blazers. For defense, I've been using Hydra Shoks for a while now.

Since idpa started up I have shot a senerio on a weekly basis for the last six years with my P7. WW white box 115gr goes for the cardboard badguys, whereas its time to hit the streets I load WW 127gr +p+. Don't worry about the hot loads in a P7.:D

For those of you that use the 127 +p+ ammo, where are you finding it? It is the round I see most often named for 9mm, but I am at a loss to find it.

The standard answer at the gun shop is LEO only but I know that is not correct.

Mr. DiFabio, how is the 9MM research coming? I have read the work you have done on the other calibers, but I am one of those "9 is fine" guys. I am anxious to read your findings.

I am about 90% through the 9mm roundup and I am in the final stages of long barrel testing.

I added 10 more rds this month and I also now in the process of putting the layout together and sorting through several hundred pictures.

Look for the roundup about the second week in Feb.

For the ammo, you have email.

It'll eat anything it's fed...

But for plinking, I like the Winchester WinClean. I use it in 40S&W in my M10's, and have found that the cleanup is much easier.

Concur w/ alpo.

Factory S&B or Fioochi.

anything that is pretty hot and 115 but some even like the 147s.

Load mine to 1250 fps w / 115s

I have never had any stovepipes with Winchester White Box or PMP, but I recently switched to Blazer because of the cost. I had 4 stovepipes yesterday, but it might be my 23# spring.
