OK, by "Non Standard" I mean not as common as .380. That's all. The .380 is ubiquitous, and many outlets that sell pistol ammo don't sell the other kind. BTW, one of the reasons some people say their choice is 9X19 parabellum is because it is everywhere and cheap, a poor reason for me but maybe for others it's enough. Most of the cheap 9MM Mak is steel case, or berdan primed, or both, which for a reloader is a very good reason to not favor the cartridge.
I have a .380 Makorov, I bought it because I didn't want to buy special dies for the 9X18.
Had it been chambered 9X18 I wouldn't have bought it. I bought a P64 because it was extremely cheap, even with what I call a non standard chambering.
Lo these many years later and I still don't own dies for it, and probably never will, because to me the cartridge isn't superior enough over the .380 to justify it.
You're welcome to believe anything you like about ammo on every store shelf, maybe in twenty years it will be but I don't think so. Maybe in some other part of the country they are common, I don't know.
