P32 price check...

Ok, I'm thinking about picking up a KelTec P32 for a back-up gun. What is a good price on one? Also, is it ammo sensitive? Are there loads to avoid, based on the experience of P32 owners?

Thanks,
R6

I'm thinking of picking one up too, and would also appreciate this info.

If we could keep getting geography with it, it would help too. I'm in the Dallas area and am going to look for a good price on a P32 at the Bigtown Gun Show tomorrow.

Cheapest I've found at a gun shop is Nix (Lewisville) -- $229 for the blued version.

WOO-HOO!! I'm finally a "Member"!! :)

I just bought one last night for 239 (Parkerized slide-gray lower). I know the 32 is frowned on as a defence load but this thing is so small and light it is about like a key ring in the pocket. I have the P-11 but it is not in the league witht hte 32 as far a concealability.

I've seen them in the Austin area for as low as $205, but usually around $219 (gunshow 2 weeks ago) - $249 for blue depending on where you go.
I was in Dallas last weekend & "The Bullet Trap" in Plano had them for $299 !! It might have been parkerized but that is still way too high. There was a Seecamp for $700, great gun but no thanks.

Yeah, rumor has it the one for $299 at The Bullet Trap is just the plain old blue one. Crazy prices there sometimes. Helluva selection, but crazy prices sometimes.

Larry's Shooting Supplies in Lewisville has it for $279 I think (I was there a few days ago and all I remember is that it was WAY overpriced). Just the regular blue one. He also has a used Seecamp for $699. ZOINKS!! (But I also saw a used Bulgarian Mak for $100...have no idea on condition though.)

Fortunately Nix is right around the corner from Larry's... :)

Recently bought one at a local gun shop here in southwestern PA. $239.00 blued version NIB. Not a bad price. You might find one a little cheaper if you look around, but the $230 range is pretty good in my opinion. I have seen them as high as $269.00 in some of the more urban located shops.

I've had my hard chrome P-32 for a LONG time.

I read about it and knew that I had to have one. Six came in town and five were snapped up immediately. The sixth was put on layaway. Unbelievably, the guy never returned to claim his new blue P-32. My father in law got that one. I looked and looked. It went on for almost a year. I don't know where KT was sending them, but it wasn't Louisville. Then one day I went to our one indoor range to practice with my Glock. There it was! At first I thought it must be a P-11. But on closer inspection, it was a blue P-32. I bought it that very minute. Took my little treasure home, field stripped it and mailed the top end to KT for the hard chrome upgrade. When it was all over, I had almost $290.00 in it. Sure it was a little more. But, I had a P-32 and almost nobody else had one! It was a little more money, but I've had mine for YEARS!
Oh, and the best thing that I've found to shoot is the new, longer Cor-Bon .32ACP. HOT! If you want something softer shooting, Gold Dots are your best bet. But my P-32 has fired everything I've tried, even MagSafes and Glasers.

So, is that the best Pistol under $200 or the best Pistol under $300? Or is it the best pistol under $230?:D

What does BayouBob say?

I have been looking at P32's since they came out. But I did not want to order one without handling it first. Then a gun shop I just now frequented had one. Blued . . . $239. On complete impulse, I bought it. I was so very impressed by the workmanship, fit and finish. And it shoots!

I put it in an Uncle Mike's sidekick #2 and that little sucker just dissapeared in the weak side pocket. Very impressive. Forget that stupid belt clip! If it is chambered, make sure it is in a holster or you might blow your family jewels away.

Try a 50/50 combination of hardball and Speer Gold Dot or Win Silvertip. The hardball will penetrate better, and the JHP's will shock. 7+1 rounds of that treatment will defend!

Still, when appropriate, I would rather carry a .9mm in +P!

But the P32 breaks new rules in concealability. Go naked and you can almost carry this little guy concealed. It sure is a heck of a lot better than carrying a knife.
