P32 - Look'n down your barrel - strange !

I only have a few pistols but I have never seen this in any except my Kel-Tec P32. After getting the barrel good and clean I look down it toward the muzzle and the lands look like ladders. In a very uniform manner on each land about every ¼" or so for the entire length of the land there is a dark area about 1/16" wide at a right angle to the length of the land. It almost looks like there are " dips " in the lands. With all the positive things I hear about Kel-Tec's customer service, I was a little surprised about how less than concerned they were when I called. They said it "probably" had something to do with a step in their manufacturing process ("probably" is the word that scares me) and not to worry because it should not affect performance. Well, maybe it wont, but I still wonder why they are there and not on any other gun I own. I'm certain it is not muzzle shadow or reflection. What is your take on this?
If you don't mind, the next time you clean your P32, take a look down the barrel and let me know if yours looks like mine.

Thanks in advance.

I used to have a P32. It did not have the problem you are describing, but it had the roughest bore I have ever had on a pistol. It was a PITA to get clean. Watch-Six

Mine is just fine right here in my back pocket holster.

For an ENT (ear/nose/throat) gun at $250, it shots fine but some F&B is on us not KT. That's how they keep the price low.

Bore is pretty rough on mine too. Only other pistol I've seen with a bore as rough was my EAA Witness in .45ACP.

The Keltec may be a bit rougher...

Doesn't affect function, but will metal foul worse than a smoother bore. Of course, not many are shooting hundreds of rounds at a time from their P32s.

My chrome P32 has never had a malfunction of any kind. Not even during the 200 round break-in period. I've used a couple different kinds of FMJ and it's stoked with Winchester Silvertips for carry.

I think what you are seeing is chattering from the tooling used to cut the rifling. Normally on a more expensive gun those chattering marks are polished out. Not on a $150 pistol, though.

I seasoned the bore of my P32 with Tetra lube - soaked patches after cleaning it. The next time I cleaned it, it was easy as pie to clean out. Tetra might solve the cleaning issue.
