Hey guys, I just made a review of three different pinky extensions for the subcompacts.

I wanted to post here and on one other forum just to get some info out there.

I did the Ebay vs Factory vs HKParts.

Take a look if you are interested.

If you have any questions I can try my best to answer them. Thanks guys.

TL: DR

If you feel like you don't want to watch the video just a quick summery:

Ebay: The "V2" which is very popular seemed nice but ended up not being the best as far as ergonomics due to a narrow nose causing increased pressure on the middle of the small finger. Also, failed to seat properly on a closed slide and a full mag.

Factory: Great ergonomics with a rubbery feel. Matches the stock texture. Very difficult to find unless you are being the whole magazine with it already mounted. The largest of the extensions.

HKParts: Really like the feel of the material but did add more weight vs the others. Seats super nice and is the most compact for concealment. Small size also means less space for the small finger which led me to have some difficult with actually fitting my big paws on the extension.

Conclusion: Nothing was perfect but I have decided to go with the +2 mag extension from HKparts. They made their standard pink extension so small I can get the +2 rounds I can see without making it any bigger than your other extensions. I enjoyed the build quality and I hope the +2 will give me just a tiny bit more room if I am lucky.

Glad you found what works for you.

I went with HK P2000/USP-C 13 round magazine with flat base plate and X-Grip extender for P2000SK. HK will have factory extended base plates for 13 and 15 round magazine around November.

Thanks for the review. This pistol is high on my list of the gun to buy next. Have a kahr cw9 but just don't care for it and don't shoot it well.

The pistol is for sure my favorite double stack subcompact. I don't see many people regret getting the P30sk for sure.

Looks like I need to start budgeting for a new VP9SK, I saw one of these recently and I'm totally sold on the idea of shooting & carrying one of these with factory extended baseplates using my P30 9mm mags!

August Update: Contacted the ebay seller about the seating problem. He sent me a new one for free no problem. Was able to test it and it seems to be free of the same problem so if you do order these (which they are good) please just double check it can seat with a full mag and slide closed.. if not he will take care of you.

I was able to get a hold of the +2 extensions and they do give you slightly more room for the pinky and they do give you the +2 rounds for sure.

The one thing I think I failed to mention here that I want to say. The only extensions, including the factory ones, that allow the magazine to fall free when empty every time were the HK Parts. I think with the extra weight they fall free. For most people it won't matter but for those that compete this is kinda a big deal as that is one less step you need to take if you are going for time.

The Ebay one feels good and I think is actually one of the best for generating extra leverage for recoil control. The Stock one is the most comfortable to hold but feels odd in that it flexes during shooting. The HK is the most robust and gives you a good clean drop when ejecting.

Cheapest option and retain factory look (Range Use) = Factory Extension
Best control without needing to reload (Carry) = Ebay
Best durability, footprint and reloading speed (Competition/Carry) = HKParts

So pick what you want or need for your application.
