P229 Enhanced Elite 9mm?

No idea why Sig produces all of these strange flavors of the P-series, but they do. I guess it is because people buy them?

An Enhanced Elite is a sticker price increase for the SRT trigger (which 20 minutes, a punch, and a modicum of mechanical ability can install) and a beaver tail.

Stock E2 P229 with an SRT and save some $$$.

Because options are a good thing. Since when is the Elite series a 'strange flavor'??

The P229 E2 comes in around $820.

The 229 Enhanced Elite comes in around $899.

The SRT kit is $50 and if you install it yourself, that's free. If you pay a gunsmith to do it, it will be at least $50.

I'm not seeing the problem here. Some people like the beavertail. Especially on the P229.

Anyways... 915A, the P229 in any flavor you like will be a fine shooter. I currently have the 229 'Extreme' which comes with the Hogue G10 grips which I highly recommend. They are about $110 aftermarket, so picking up the Extreme with them already included was a plus. It also ships with the SRT kit. All I added after the fact was the Gray Guns P-SPIT trigger to replace the stupid short-reach(thin) trigger that comes stock.

With the Enhanced Elite, you'll get the E2 grips which are very comfortable. You'll get the SRT trigger. I personally hate the thin short-reach trigger, but many people like it. I find that it causes more vibration in my trigger finger and can sometimes pinch the meat of my trigger finger against the frame.

The Gray Guns P-SPIT is about $50-$60 and has a nicely rounded trigger face and a built-in over travel stop. It has quickly become one of my standard requirements on any new Sig that I pick up.

If you can find a decent price on the Enhanced Elite and that's the model that you like... pick it up. It's a great gun. Good luck!

I’ve been very happy with the P229 Enhanced Elite that I have. The gun has proven to be easy to shoot, accurate and reliable. As for paying a little extra for the upgrades I guess that just depends on your perspective. Yes, you could buy the base model and add the upgrades later. However for me that didn’t make sense I had the money and the LGS had the gun, so it was simpler to buy what I wanted and be done with it.

Thanks for the informative answer. Good thing for me is it is coming via trade for a Ruger SR1911 CMD and 22/45. Both ends of the trade are in like new condition with minimal rounds. And I am getting 4 x mags.

When did they add the SRT? The build date on the box was Jan 2013. I dont think he ever fired it really, less than 100 rds. He said was a safe queen.

Ahhh tracking now! So I lucked out then, even better! It fits my hand like a glove! Cant wait to shoot it!

I love my P229. The thing is a beautiful little machine, and runs like a top. Have had nothing but great experience with it, and have had several friends shoot it which resulted in immediate pistol envy. For a DA/SA platform, the P229 & P226 sort of set the standard.

Glad you picked it up. You'll love it, I am sure. If it does not have an SRT, you can get one from Top Gun Supply for around fifty dollars. They are, far and away, the best 'upgrade' that I've come across, and I am in some ways surprised that they aren't factory standard across all models.

As far as 'flavors' goes, Malice, the Sig catalogue page has TEN different models, mostly varied in aesthetics. People can buy what they want (and I guess Sig is catering to this habit), but that kind of thing just doesn't speak to me, and if anything, turns me off.
