P226 firing pin

The firing pin on my brand spankin new P226 has a tiny little defect in the tip.Its a little "crater",one almost needs a magnifier to view it.I noticed it puts a little mark on the primer indents in spent cases,maybe the size of the head of a pin.The piece has been ultra reliable in the 400 rounds or so that it has fired to date.I suppose i should send it back to sigarms,has anyone had any experiencw with the service dept.of sig???Has anyone else heard of bad firing pins in sig pistols? The worst i could say about this one was a few failures to lock the slide back when empty,until i noticed those primer markings!

Sig's service dept. is usually excellent to deal with. If the pin "defect" concerns you enough, arrange to send the slide back to Sig to have it replaced. They will likely do this for free if it's a relatively new pistol. Or a local Sig armorer or 'smith could do it easily enough.

Replacing a firing pin is easy enough but better to have Sig do it for you and why not take advantage of the warranty? Besides, roll pins are a pain to deal with.
