P226 a little loose

I found a P226 that has a beautiful blue finish, but the slide is a little loose and bobbles a little left and right. Would that make the gun less reliable or more dangerous? If I sent it to SIG would they be able to get it tight if it's under warranty?

Looseness generally makes it more reliable but accuracy is loss as the lock-up is not as consistent. In our armorers' school, they never gave or even suggested the tolerances for the frame to slide fit. However, if you wanted to compress it slightly, that can be done but so long as the gun shoots OK, I wouldn't bother. Leave it alone.

How would i compress it slightly w/o making it a Sig manufactured blued paper weight? I'm going to call sig customer service sometime soon and ask those guys about it.
