P220 needs a facelift

My P200 is looking a bit tired from daily CCW and is in need of refinishing. It's going to the smith tomorrow and still don't know exactly what should be done to it. Should I just have the factory restoration or go for the razzle-dazzle. Add some chrome, special finish or some color.

Date with the makeover artist is tomorrow. Don't be shy with those ideas. I need help please!

Have a deep blue finish with lots of luster
put on that good ole' Sig P220; and add a
set of ivory grips, with a spread eagle
between two crossed American flag's. Last,
but not least add a high-viz front sight.
That ought fix her up pretty nice.

Practical

This is a pretty practical pistol - it's very purposeful looking, but not pretty. I'd go for a more practical, functional finish. I got a nickle slide P220 because the slide gets a lot of contact with your hand, and the blueing doesn't hold up that well. And I live with the reflections. I'd either just nickle the slide, or go for one of the new-tech finishes that are more durable. Chrome, nickle, etc have been "done to death" and look tacky on a SIG (and just about everything else). A Parkerized P220 would look serious....

They do all of the above and some pretty unusual examples.

I think the old all nickle factory P220 that they used to do was one of the prettiest guns I have ever seen. I never have liked the two tone now in production. So I would send the gun to Robar, (the sight is listed in the above post), and have them NP3 the entire gun.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm off to the gun smith with my wish list which includes:

Stainless trigger and grip screws
Semi skeletonize the hammer
Open the magazine well
Scallop the front strap
and maybe add an extended magazine release
Roguard wonder finish

Lets see how much of this stuff I can afford.
