P.S.P. .25 Auto

Hello,
Some years back I purchased a little blue .25 Auto. I think it was made by a company called P.S.P.? It is a copy of the Baby Browning .25 and I had read some gun magazine reviews that it was equal, or better, than the Browning. It was not real cheap as I remember. I have never fired the little thing and was wondering if anyone else has one or these, or has shot one. It looks to be of pretty fair quality on the outside. It was made in the U.S.
Thanks

I've got one!

It's actually made by K.B.I. I'm not sure what that stands for, but I bought my hard chromed (I think) version about 4-5 years ago for $175. And yes, it is a copy of the Baby Browning. I think a few other companies made similar copies (ie, Bauer).

Tiny gun. When I did my research, it was the lightest (and I believe smallest) semi auto made (though I think the Kel-Tec P32 may be lighter now).

It won't shoot some hollowpoints (I couldn't get Hornadys to cycle at all), but does fine with hardball and I believe magsafes. It did jam some when I first got it, but does alright now that it's broken in.

Would it be my first choice in a gunfight? Definately not. But sometimes, it's the most I can comfortably carry. Better a .25 than nothing!

The PSP was actually made in Va. and distributed through Kassnar (later reorganized as KBI) here in the U.S. It was exported and sold as a Browning in Europe, I believe that FN had discontinued production years ago. High quality little gun. There was some pains in the transition when a company called PSA took over, they were in Beverly Hills, Ca., and production was moved to Irvine, Ca. I have seen a couple at gun shows recently and I hear that the pistols are back in production again, though I couldn't guarantee it. There are many grades and models available including stainless, alloy, and engraved at varying prices. It is a fine little gun, just remember that the design dates from a time when the only ammo manufactured anywhere in the world was FMJ, so don't expect anything else to feed in them correctly. If it does great, but don't expect it.

P.S.P. stands for Precision Small Parts Co. As far as I've ever been able to tell, this is the only gun they make. They specialize in making small parts for other manufacturers in all sorts of business.
Excellent little gun. I've got one that I bought about ten years ago. I don't shoot it a lot, but when I do it never misses a beat. Mine has never jammed. This is my gun for those times when you can't carry a gun.

Since light travels faster than sound, isn't it logical that some people appear bright until you hear them speak?

PSP in Charlottesville, VA manufactured this pistol under an official license from FN in Belgium and was so good that production was for USA and for FN in Belgium for their own distribution/sale worldwide. I was under the impression that PSP was still in VA, but have not confirmed this.

I have it's brother, the Baby Browning. I compared mine to a PSP that someone had at our local club, they are identical twins. My little BB is quite reliable, in about 100 rounds, it's never had a malfunction. Since it only bought it for my collection, I haven't extensively function tested it, but from what I've seen, it's a decent little gun.
