+P in Sig P220?

The manufacturer says "not recommended" with regards to +P in the P220. Has anyone had any experience with this. Is it just a matter of wearing out the spring?
 
I wouldnt get sucked into the idea of +P ammo in a 45.

I decided I had to have it, got some, shot it, and hated it. Recoil and muzzle blast are notably worse, and for what? Plain old 45 is a wonderful round as is, and I dont think much can be done to improve it.
 
Actually SIG's faq page states the following:
What's the best type of ammunition for SIGARMS pistols?
Any factory ammunition that is SAAMI approved is suitable for use (P and +P). +P+, hand reloads and military surplus ammunition are not recommended.


Just avoid the +P+ and the hand reloads
