+P 45 ACP loads?

Would my S&W 645 be able to handle +P loads? How much of a difference is there between the standard load and the +P load?
Secondly, what brand of brass is considered the best choice for the 45? I want to reload for the 645.
Thirdly, do cast bullets work well in this gun or any other 45. I found a deal on 200gr SWC Excel brand and am thinking of trying them.
Any input would be much appreciated.

The 645 should be pretty reliable with most bullet shapes. I remember the first article about the 645 that I read. The reviewer was impressed with the integral feed ramp and was able to load up a magazine full of empty cases and rack them through the gun by hand cycling the slide! The 645 should be able to handle +P. I think the Smith is at least as strong as any 1911. You may need heavier recoil springs for +P loads.

weshoot2 question

I use 6.2 gr W231 under a 200gr Rainier swc, and get 900+/- on my chrony. At what speeds are your loads running ?
