Oxpho-Blue

I bought some Brownells Oxpho-Blue today to do some touchup blueing. Has anybody used this and how were the results? Any tips on how to use it?

Thanks

Mrat, the best tip is to follow the directions. After the first application you want your cotton ball to just be damp. Squeeze as much out as you can between your fingers. I even squeeze it in a paper towel. Too much solution will just remove previous applications. George

Hey mrat,
George is on the money.
I touched up a Ruger Mk II that had gone
scruffy about the frame with Oxpho-Blue. Followed the label and it came out looking like new.
I sorta got a wild-hair after that,
blued pocketknife blades are the coolest...

Mrat, make sure you are not using too much solution. That's about the only thing that keeps it from darkening. Unless of course you are attempting to blue something that might be an alloy instead of steel. If you are sure you are following the directions and it isn't working, contact the tech support staff at Brownells and talk to them. (641) 623-5401. Or you can reach them via e-mail at their web site, www.brownells.com. George
