I went out to my pond and shot my Rossi 12 guage with 18 1/2 inch barrel ans steel butplate and it beat the hell out of me all most bring me to tears

You have four choices:
Adapt the gun (recoil pad).
Adapt you (shoulder pad).
Shoot it in pain.
Don't shoot it.
