Overtightened trigger screw, bolt scratch

Hi,
So this is my first post and of corse it is a plea for help. My girlfriend and I just got into bolt action and I was installing a HS precision removable bottom magazine on our Remington 700, and like an idiot I over tightened the the screw that attaches the bottom metal and stock to the barrel, thus pinning the bolt in place. I since shortened the screw and there is a tiny bit of damage to the bolt, has this destroyed the bolt or will it continue to function normally?

Thanks for the help
Karl

Thanks a bunch, the instructions did not include that as a possible mistake to make. I looked at ever video I could find on the web before taking out the dremel and praying to the gods. All in all it was easy for a person with 0 gun smithing skills to pull off. Aside from the not realizing a bolt resize was in order.

I did how ever open the bolt while it was pressed in place by the screw, there is no apparent gouges or so on the bolt, small marks but nothing that looks like it compromised the bolt. I would assume the metal for the bolt is much harder then the metal used in manufacturing the screw? Any ways I just wanted to make sure I would not cause a catastrophic failure when firing the first round out of it.
