Oversized scope for Air rifle, need spacer

Until the military, I never really understood the concept of a bullet's parabolic flight path. The M-16 sights intersect the bullet path twice.
I bought a cheep eBay scope with a mil dot. I would like to mount it on a pellet gun to introduce my boys to the concept of gauging distance and undue years of video game "Bullet homes in on the red dot" targeting.

The pellet gun has smaller "rails" but the bigger issue is the clearance for the scope itself. Is there a conversion mount for this? It does not need to be a precision instrument.

That scope will likely not have a parallax adjustment for the range of the sir rifle, and the recoil of the air rifle may destroy the scope in short order.

A more appropriate scope would be worthwhile.

Even a cheap Tasco should do the job, but try and get one designed for air rifles.

To clarify, not all airguns require special scopes.
Spring powered ones have a forward and aft, double whammy recoil, that is damaging to ordinary scopes.
Other types of airguns don't have the same kind of recoil, if any.
What kind do you have?
The picture looks like a multipump, maybe.

when i need more clearance with airguns, ill use a 11mm rail (weaver style)that fits in the grooves on the airrifle (or 3/8s whichever fits the groove), then use high weaver scope rings to mount the scope on the rail, all that gets you some extra height that just high rings wont.

What they both said with regards to recoil. It's kind of amazing how a scope that can withstand the recoil of, say, a 30-06 will be hammered to death by an air rifle.
